Back in the late 19th century, a novice brewer from Sapporo traveledto Germany to learn the fine art of brewing beer. Two years later he returned, and the result is the Sapporo Brewing Company, one of the largest in the world. Now I'm not endorsing the drinking of beer, I'm just noting the culture of Hokkaido. Dave and Susan, fellow sensei, enjoyed the visit to the brewery as well. Kanpai! (Cheers!)
